🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Scottish Week 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We’ve had such a great time during our Scottish Week with various themed activities. Our residents flexed their creative skills in art sessions making unique tartan patterns. We also had our regular flower arranging club and poetry reading.

In the spirit of a Scottish ceilidh we enjoyed going on a trip to Hill House for dancing. Back in the home we kept moving with lots of social group exercises. To round it off we also had culinary fun in the cooking class. We hope you enjoy the photos and see you next week!

Group Outing

We enjoyed some fresh air on a trip out to the local garden centre for coffee accompanied with freshly made scones. It’s always lovely to look at the beautiful plants and flowers together.

Perfect company, perfect outing!

Creating Tartan Patterns

Our residents enjoyed our arts and crafts session this week, during which we created our own unique tartan. Instead of wool and a loom, we formed our criss cross patterns with different coloured paper.

Physio and Toss the Caber

We tried our hand at the traditional Scottish sport of caber throwing, although we substituted logs for foam poles instead. A great chance to test our strength and coordination. Group physiotherapy keeps us active, engaged and feeling our  best. Staying fit together is also a wonderful opportunity to socialise!

Dawn also encourages gentle exercises throughout the day, movement is medicine!

Live Singer

We joined our friends at Hill House, where we enjoyed a fantastic performance by Kuran the singer perform for us. A great time had by all with a chance to tap our feet and get up and about to dance together!
