There’s had been such a lot to celebrate during November at Woodlands. Along with all of our normal trips out, games, clubs and visiting entertainers, we have also had our Outstanding celebration, Bonfire night with family and friends, Remembrance Sunday and preparations for Christmas.
The adorable Connie and her owner Helen visited for our Pat the Dog Therapy session on Monday the 4th. Connie is so friendly and just loves the fuss from the residents and we love seeing her.
We celebrated Bonfire Night with family and friends on the 5th. The wonderful kitchen staff made hot dogs and hot drinks after which we had a fantastic firework display put on by our Maintenance team.
The activities and care staff ran a very good Bingo session on the 7th, which most residents joined in on. The prize was a box of celebrations.
The Managers and staff put on a fantastic celebration for Woodlands being awarded Outstanding by CQC. The group Champagne and the Blitz sang and there was lots of food and bubbly! A most enjoyable evening was had by all.
On the 8th Billy Clayton put on a great performance for us on Friday the 8th. Some to the staff and residents did a bit of Rock and Roll dancing too.
Friends and family are always welcome at Woodlands and we enjoy their regular visits.
The Gardening Club prepared a lovely, peaceful spot for this touching memorial for Audrey who loved being in the gardens as Woodlands.
On Monday the 11 we chose armchair aerobics for our movement class. Our trainer really puts on an enjoyable session.
The Children from Crookham Juniors came to visit with the resident’s on Tuesday the 12th. They bring lots of chatter and smiles with them.
We started our preparations for Christmas with these Christmas fireplace wall hangings we made with the children.
On Wednesday our Physio Becky had a full class in the lounge.
On Thursday Gareth came to sing for us in the afternoon. He is one of our regular entertainers and we love to sing along as he has a wonderful selection of songs.
Our trip out this week was to Badshot Lea Garden Centre and after a walk around the stands filled with Christmas decorations and a wonder around the pet and fish section, we had well-earned cup of tea in the coffee shop.
Alison came in with her cute goats on the 20th. The residents love their playful nature and they are so soft to the pet.
Every week we have a couple of buckets of fresh flowers delivered to the home. Our talented residents make pleasing bouquets which are displayed throughout the home.
Friday the 22nd we had a trip up to Hill House to spend time with friends and watch an energetic performance by Natasha.
On Monday the 25th we started our preparations for Christmas in earnest. All of the residents do their bit to get the home ready.
On Wednesday the 27th the Arts and Craft Club made Christmas decorations that will hang from strings.
One of our lovely Carers played word search with us in the afternoon on the 28th.
The Residents put together a tree of Christmas Wishes.
After all of the hard work over the last couple weeks for the knitting and natter ladies they dropped off their donation of colourful blankets they’ve made, to the Salvation Army on Friday the 29th
