On Monday 26th. October we started Halloween week enthusiastically with our chair-based exercise programme.

We also enjoyed a Halloween word search managing a very impressive 134 words from the phrase ‘ Halloween Trick or Treat’ and then during the afternoon some of us made some very stylish Halloween decorations during Arts and Crafts.

On Tuesday 27th. October we enjoyed a bean bag toss during the morning and then played musical bingo during the afternoon.

On Wednesday 28th. October we went for an Autumn drive out to Hawley lake where we enjoyed hot drinks and biscuits on board. We enjoyed watching people dinghy sailing as well as young mechancial engineer soldiers constructing a bridge at RSME Hawley Head.

WOODLANDS DIARY PART 2:
During the afternoon we set to work on our biscuit making for the NAPA competition in association with McVities.

On Thursday 29th. October we enjoyed a lively class with Rebecca the physiotherapist and iced our biscuits for the competition.
In the afternoon were busy arranging the fresh flowers into 6 vases and a pumpkin vase as well as carving pumpkins for Halloween which was very much enjoyed!

We also bid a fond farewell to Neeta who after almost three years working at Woodlands is now moving to Yorkshire with her husband’s posting. Neeta is very much liked by the residents and will be missed by everyone!

On Friday 30th. October we did chair based exercises with a Halloween theme, learnt about the history and origins of Halloween and it’s associated traditions. We also enjoyed a Halloween quiz.

During the afternoon we enjoyed a sing-a-long tea party and sampled the iced biscuits we had made for the NAPA competition earlier in the week.

On Saturday 31st. October we enjoyed a balloon bounce and the Giant Crossword during the day .In the evening we were entertained by both staff and directors dressed up in fancy dress for our special Halloween social party. We enjoyed trick n’ treating and helped judged the eventual winners of the fancy dress competition.

On Sunday 1st. November we enjoyed a more restful day with Woodlands Hangman during the morning and then we enjoyed Film Club with a James Bond movie in tribute to Sean Connery.
