It feels like we wished Merry Christmas and New Year just yesterday but here we are in the third week of January already. The time goes so quickly and even quicker when you keep yourself busy. The residents at Woodlands have kept themselves very busy through out the second week of the month.

We started the week with the game of giant crossword done by one of our care partners. Most of the residents participated in the game and it was completed in no time.

We have more and more participants in our in chair- based exercise sessions. The team run these at least 3 times a week. After the exercises classes the residents like to cool down either with a parachute game or ball games.

The residents really enjoy playing one of our many table and board games like dominoes, jigsaw puzzles along with floor games like quoits.

On Wednesday morning a round of true or false questions was done by our other care partner. The residents gathered around the lounge to participate.

Many thanks to our care partners who help us with the activities. We all appreciate it very much.

This week the residents made Eccles cake in our cooking club. It was something different in our cooking club and everyone was very excited to make them and then enjoyed them for their pudding.

As every Thursday our lovely Physio Rebecca to run our physiotherapy class. The residents gathered in the dining and did exercises, helping to keep our joints mobile and our bones strong.

After exercises we did a round of picture quiz. We had quizzes related to animals, childhood games, buildings and many more.

On the Thursday afternoon, we celebrated birthday of one of our residents. She was very happy and pleased that the residents  came together and wish her a very happy birthday. Everyone wished her a very happy birthday.

After the celebration the residents enjoyed their afternoon tea while helping with flower arrangement.

Recently we have included the very popular, pedicure session in our activities. The residents have their feet soaked, cleaned and then massage and nails trimmed when needed. Good hygiene is always a priority at Woodlands.

On Friday afternoon we had colour therapy which everyone finds it relaxing.

Every Saturday Louis plays piano for the residents and they love it. They love to sing along with him. Louis asks the residents to request songs and he plays their choice which makes them very happy.

Alison was kind enough to bring her dog Wally, to the see the residents for pet therapy. She walked the dog each resident one by one so they each had a good cuddle with him.

The residents spent their Sunday morning watching church service on tv and afternoon with a glass of wine and fresh fruit. Delicious and great for hydration!
