A week of togetherness, team work, celebration and happiness in Woodlands.
The residents of Woodlands had a very productive week which included arts and crafts, exercise, cooking, celebrations and much more.
We started our week with the game of Giant crossword. The residents all gathered around in the lounge and worked together to complete it.
As we are on the first week of the march, we made paper flowers and did the colouring. March is the month for daffodils so we all welcomed the lovely spring season.
On Wednesday morning, we completed a game of hangman with one of our care partners followed by occupation word game. We got to learn about different occupations and had a brief discussion on them.
In our cooking club this last week, we made delicious Cornish pasties celebrating the Cornish pasty week. The filling was freshly made which made them taste even better. The residents enjoyed them for Supper.
Two lovely goats made their way to Woodlands on Thursday morning. They went to each of our residents and enjoyed the treats from them. Our residents loved the presence of these goats and are looking forward to welcome them again.
The residents helped with flower arrangement as we do every Thursday. We all appreciate how they decorate our home with these beautiful flowers.
While having a garden walk the week before, we noticed that our bird feeders had been emptied by the birds. So, we put bird feeding in our activities sheet and the residents were glad to participate. They went to the garden, collected the bird feeders, filled them with food, went back to the garden and put them back to the place.
On Thursday evening just before supper, we celebrated birthday of one of our residents. We all sang birthday song together and we wish to celebrate many more birthdays together.
We spent our Friday morning doing chair-based exercise followed by these interesting games.
Over the weekend, we played many more games, sang along while Louis played piano and celebrated 2nd birthday of the week. The birthday girl was more than pleased we came together and wished her a very happy birthday.
