What a wonderful week we had in Woodlands.
We celebrated the St Patrick’s day, went on a trip, had an entertainer, enjoyed the weather with garden walks and much more.
On Monday, a game of Bingo was done by one of our care partners. Our residents love this game and enjoy the treats they get for participating.
On Tuesday morning, we started to get ready for the St. Patrick’s Day. The residents made hats using a pieces of paper and green water paint. They got very creative with it and made these amazing St. Patrick’s hats.
On Tuesday afternoon, we had an outing to Manor Park in Aldershot. We had a walk around the lovely park enjoying the fresh air and then sat down by the pond for birds feeding. The residents spoiled the birds that day with all the bird food we had taken with us.
We stayed for about an hour, had some drinks, crisps and tea cakes and headed back home.
We made most of being out for the afternoon.
We started our Wednesday morning with a game of crossword. Our care partner helped with the game and the residents did a great job.
On Wednesday afternoon, the residents were entertained by a performance from one of our entertainers Stephanie. She sang 40’s -70’s songs and the residents absolutely loved them. At the end of the afternoon, one of our residents and Stephanie herself could not hold back their tears. I suppose that is what a good music does to you. It brings out all of your hidden emotions.
On Thursday morning, we made cupcakes and also did the icing in our cooking club.
The residents also participated in the flower arranging and helped to decorate the home with these fresh flowers.
On the occasion of St. Patrick’s Day, we had Guinness tasting. The residents had a bit of Guinness and a green smoothie.
In the afternoon, we celebrated the St. Patrick’s Day with a very special afternoon tea followed by a sing along.
On Friday morning, we swopped roles and had our nails painted by the residents. The residents had fun and laugh while painting our nails.
In the afternoon, we had cheese and wine tasting.
We had smoked cheese, soft cheese, mature cheese, halloumi cheese and many more with a glass of red or white wine. We had a lovely chat and ended our day with a game of Dominoes.
On Saturday morning, the residents went for a garden walk and joined in for sing along while Louis played piano.
In the afternoon, the residents had their nails painted in our brand-new salon.
On Sunday, the residents enjoyed Knitting and ended the week remaining productive as always.
