What an amazing week we have just had, with the loveliest weather of the year so far.
We spent a lot of time in the garden last week either just chatting or engaging in different activities.

We started our week by doing chair- based exercises. We have been doing chair-based exercises every other day without fail for months
now. The residents enjoy it and find them very helpful both physically and mentally.

On Tuesday morning, we did a game of the giant crossword followed by dominoes.

In the afternoon we made chocolate brownies in our cooking club. The residents helped cooking from measuring the ingredients to pouring them in the tin for baking. The brownies tasted amazing and they had them on Wednesday with their afternoon tea. We kept the brownies overnight for them to settle for the perfect texture.

On Wednesday morning, a game of hangman was done by one of our care partners. This time he turned up with a piece of paper full of words for hangman just because our residents catch up with the game quickly, leaving us with no words so he was clever enough to come prepared.

In the afternoon, we celebrated 100th birthday of one of our residents. We decorated our dining room and celebrated our residents. Her niece joined in for the celebration and the cake was also made by her. We all sang her the birthday song and enjoyed the cake with our afternoon tea.

On Thursday morning, the residents did exercises with the physiotherapist, had their hair done by our hair dresser and also helped with arranging these beautiful flowers.

In the afternoon, we could not help ourselves but sit outside in the garden. While enjoying the weather. The residents also made smoothies of their own preference and kept themselves hydrated.

We have started to get a tan ready for summer.

On Friday, we did colour and painting. The residents painted spring flower as we are welcoming spring. One of our residents was more
interested in painting my nose rather than the flowers.

On Saturday, the residents got more creative and painted rocks this time. They poured their talents in a piece of rock are which went really well. We are amazed everyday by the talents of our residents.

On Sunday, we celebrated the Mother’s Day. The residents had a lovely afternoon tea and received flowers from the staffs for being wonderful mothers and respecting their sacrifices they made for their children.

All the mothers of the world are the real heroes.
