We had an amazing week in Woodlands. We went on a trip to Redfields Garden Centre, made shortbread in our cooking club, had an entertainer perform for us, had a tea party and much more.

On Monday, we started our morning being very crafty making bird houses. The residents painted the bird houses very beautifully. They also had a great time helping each other.

Later in the afternoon, we did a game of Hangman and ended our day with a pub quiz.

On Tuesday, we had visit from Alisons lovely goats. The goats are very friendly and our residents loved feeding and petting them.

On Wednesday morning, we had our entertainer Steph sing songs for us. She sang for an hour and our residents loved each and every minute of her performance. As the show was ending some of our residents could not help but to get on the dance floor. All the singing and dancing made us very much look forward to our lunch that day.

In the afternoon, we went on a trip to the Redfields Garden centre. The residents had a walk around the lovely garden and then we went to the café for our afternoon tea. The staffs of the café made our trip even more memorable as they treated us with free cakes.

On Thursday morning, we started our day by doing chair-based exercises with the physiotherapist. We also did chair-based exercises every other day throughout the week.

After finishing with their exercises, the residents helped with flower arranging as they do every Thursday morning.

We then spent our Thursday afternoon by cooking delicious shortbreads. The shortbreads had rich taste with perfect amount of sugar. The measurement of the ingredients was done by the residents and they were definitely satisfied with the outcome.

We had a lovely weather on Friday, so we took the opportunity to relax in the garden and enjoy the warmth of the sun our skin.

The residents enjoyed fruit and cocktails while also participating in arts and crafts for the VE day.

On the weekend, we did World War 2 quizzes and word games and celebrated the VE Day with a tea party. Some of our new residents joined in for their first tea party at Woodlands and absolutely loved to be part of it.

We had walks around the garden throughout the week and made the most out of the weather whenever we could.
