What a lovely weather we just had. Woodlands made the most of the weather and we are getting proper tan this summer, No doubt. The residents spent their days engaging in some very exciting activities and also spent a lot of time together to understand and create a special bond with each other.
On Monday morning, we had our friendly and energetic friend Pluto visit us. Pluto is a dog of one of our carers and she was kind enough to bring him to our residents to share love and cuddle. Our residents very much enjoyed the company of Pluto and even took him for a walk around the garden. We wish to welcome and spoil him again.
Pluto knows that he is absolutely loved by everyone.
Could not stay still for the picture..
Pluto spent the entire day with our residents.
In the afternoon, the residents enjoyed the game of crossword in the garden with one of our care partners.
The residents spent their Tuesday morning by playing parachute games. The residents absolutely love this game as it makes them laugh and also makes them physically active.
In the afternoon, some of our residents did knitting while the others went for a walk around the garden.
On Wednesday, we made sausage rolls in our cooking club. Making sausage rolls was hardest one yet and we did everything from making and flattening the dough to filling it with sausage meat and also covering it with beaten eggs for the extra brown colour. It took us about 2 hrs to make them but it was all worth the time. Would like to thank our residents for supporting to the end.
They enjoyed them for supper.
On Thursday morning, the residents helped with flower arranging. The residents also did chair-based exercises with the physiotherapist.
The smile that only appears after getting your hair done.
On Friday, we did arts and crafts for the Queens’ platinum jubilee. The residents cut out the queens’ pictures and articles from the old magazines and pasted them on a cardboard.
We all are very much looking forward to the big celebration of the Queens’ Platinum Jubilee.
In the afternoon, we had a very relaxing time in the garden with fresh fruits, smoothies and snacks.
Sharing is caring..
On Saturday, we had sing along with Louis. This week we had more residents as an audience than ever for sing along so we can say that Louis was very flattered.
After the sing along, one of our residents helped the chef with making cupcakes for our afternoon tea party.
We had to show her good work to all of our staff.
Then in the afternoon, we had a tea party in the garden. It was very warm so the residents could not stay out for very long but they did enjoy their afternoon tea and cakes.
These are the same cupcakes made by our resident.
The hats worn by the residents were made by themselves during the Easter.
On Sunday, we had 4 of these small and cute kittens visit our residents. They were very calm and our residents loved cuddling them. Such a sweet little animal they are.
