We just can’t get enough of this beautiful weather. The residents have been spending more time in the garden, so it is time to get the sun creams out.
We are still not over the big jubilee celebrations, we had just a week ago.

We started the week with chair-based exercise. Health and exercise are very important for a healthy lifestyle. Chair based exercises help with the mobility of the residents and also helps with blood circulation. The residents find the exercises very beneficial.

In the afternoon, we had a live performance by Natasha. She is very good with what she does. She dances and sings very passionately and it does make a very positive impact on the mood of our residents as they feel her energy.

On Tuesday, the residents made cards for the carers for National Carer’s Day. They made them with lots of love and handed them out to the carers. They dedicated their cards to all of the cares including night staff and also wrote small notes of appreciation. The surprise on our carers faces when they received the card was priceless. The residents spent their day socializing with the carers. They also went for walks around the garden.

In the afternoon, we followed the Italian theme and made delicious pepperoni and cheese pizza in our cooking club. We received a help by one of our care partners and the residents really enjoyed making the mini pizzas.

On Wednesday morning, A game of hangman was held by one of our care partners.

As every Thursday, the residents had a physiotherapy session. More of our residents joined this week and did the exercises together followed by ball games.

After finishing with the exercises, the residents had their cup of tea and biscuits while helping with the flower arranging.

In the afternoon, we had a game of bingo. The residents loved the game and it does bring them all together. They were rewarded with delicious chocolate bars for participating in the game.

On Friday morning, we had these lovely goats visit us. The residents loved to feed and pet them. When we offered the food to the goats, they would lick our hands, which made us laugh. We walked the goats to each and every room so everyone got to see them.
In the afternoon, as the weather was so good, the residents relaxed in the garden and read newspapers while also socializing with each other. They kept themselves hydrated by drinking plenty of fresh fruit smoothies and juices.

On Saturday morning, the residents started their day with chair-based exercises, then they all settled down for a sing along with Louis. The residents absolutely love to sing along with Louis when he plays piano.

In the afternoon, we had our tea party in the garden. Tea parties are very good for socializing with each other and building friendship so we make sure to have one every Saturday. Everyone chats about lots of different things. It is a great way to relax.

On Sunday, the residents had very relaxing morning and afternoon. They played dominoes and cards in the garden, they went for a walk and had fresh fruits and fruit cocktails in the afternoon.
With just a quick selfie here and there..
