Having warnings regarding the heat wave on the news was a bit concerning but we kept ourselves cool in woodlands by keeping ourselves hydrated with plenty of fluids and ice creams and since we just had a carnival week, we had an excuse to treat ourselves with delicious sweets too.

On Monday, we played a game of bean bag toss. The residents very much enjoyed the game and the room was filled with laughter. One of our care partners also joined in for the challenge which made the game even more fun for our residents

On Tuesday, we had a wonderful live performance by Emma. Her bright colourful dress brought an extra touch to her performance and our residents absolutely loved to sing and dance along with her.

On Wednesday morning, we had a visit from these friendly little goats. They were very well behaved until one of them decided to have a wonder around our garden. It took us half an hour to catch him. The residents thought it was a great fun watching us running after the goat

Most of our resident’s love animals so having goats, ponies and dogs often brighten their mood.

In the afternoon, we made our way to the squire’s garden centre. We had a good walk around the garden centre. There were many fishes and other reptiles to look at. We then went to the café bar and had delicious scones with a cup of tea.

On Thursday morning, the residents went to the hair dresser and had their hair done one after another and also helped with the flower arrangement.

There was no better way to spend our Thursday afternoon rather than a hook a duck challenge. The residents managed to hook one duck at a time too easily so we set a challenge to hook two ducks at time. After, numerous attempts one of our residents did it eventually and we all celebrated her victory together

On Friday we did a game of the giant crossword which never fails to entertain our residents and, in the afternoon, we had a game of Bowling.

On the weekend, we had a trolley of goodness! We had varieties of sweets and ice cream to go with the carnival theme
