Another patriotic theme this week in Woodlands as we celebrate the Best of British.

We had a week of amazing activities in Woodlands. We had British history and Geographical quizzes, English afternoon tea party, BBQ, outing and many more.

We started our week with chair-based exercises as we always do. Now we have started to do the exercises in the lounge rather than in the dinning room and we have found more people joining in. Everyone loves a bit of movement and a sing along in the morning. A favourite is the song “Grand old duke of York” while marching on spot.

After exercises we enjoyed the giant crossword before we made our way to the dining for lunch.

In the afternoon, we had Afternoon tea party. The afternoon tea with delicious and we enjoyed a wonderful Victoria sponge cake.

The best part was socialising with each other while enjoying the tea and cakes.

As the weather has been so nice, we couldn’t resist having another Summer BBQ.

Go along with this week’s theme, we put up flags and buntings. The chef made refreshing Pimm’s and lemonade which was a fun and tasty way to keep hydrated in the garden.

After finishing the BBQ, we all gathered in the lounge and played a game of Bingo which was very entertaining.

On Thursday morning, we had a chair-based exercises session with the physiotherapist.

Some of the residents also helped with flower arranging outside in the gardens as the weather is so lovely.

In the afternoon, we made scones. We had a great time while making them and enjoyed them warm with their afternoon cup of tea.

On Friday, we made our way to the Tweseldown Pub for drinks and snacks.

Couple of refreshing drinks in a local pub on a Friday afternoon.

On Saturday morning, Louis played piano and the residents joined in for a sing along.

In the afternoon, we did British geographical word puzzle and British history quiz.

On Sunday morning, remained very productive with a game of mini golf and had relaxing movie afternoon with snacks, fresh fruits and drinks.
