A lovely picture of when we visited in Farnham Mill Nursing Home for an enjoyable afternoon tea.

Our theme for this week is transportation. We enjoyed quizzes on all forms of transport over land, sea and air. We also travelled to Farnham Mill in our mini bus along with lots of other activities throughout the week.

We started our week with some light chair-based exercises. We always do some chair-based exercises before we start with our any other activities every day. The residents find the exercises very beneficial. The exercises include stretching and moving our joints which helps to improve our mobility. This also helps to prevent falls in the long run.

This not only benefits us physically but we see improvements in our mental health too.

We also had a lovely pamper morning by getting hair done on Monday morning.
After lunch, we commemorated VJ day (victory over Japan) this included a drinks trolley which went around the home as residents selected their drink of choice.

On Tuesday, we had a live performance by one of our favourite entertainers Stephanie.

Our residents absolutely love her as she always manages to soothe our residents with her beautiful voice and her great songs choices.

It was a lovely afternoon.

On Wednesday morning, all of our residents were seen by the Chiropodist. Some residents also had their finger nails trimmed and varnished by the team.

In the afternoon, we made our way to Farnham Mill Nursing Home. Farnham Mill always manages to please us with their hospitality. We were welcomed with great choice of sandwiches, cakes and tea/ coffee and most importantly their great company. Our residents were delighted to meet the residents of Farnham Mill and vice versa.

While enjoying afternoon tea, the residents also had a sing along. The room was filled with beautiful voices in no time.

The residents also had a walk around the beautiful garden of Farnham Mill before we made our way back home.

Residents very happy to see Louis again.

Delicious sandwiches prepared by the chef of Farnham mill.

Nothing better than an afternoon tea in a fine China tea cup.

On Thursday, we again started our morning with light chair-based exercises. After exercises, some of our residents helped with flower arranging.

We have a new addition to our family at Woodlands. Everyone has made her feel welcomed and she really enjoys a long walk in the beautiful grounds.

On Thursday’s during our very crafty afternoon, the residents played with colours and made a photo frame which we will be using in future events.

On Friday morning, we made cupcakes and also decorated them.

Everyone showed great team work as they helped each other and worked together. This is the same for all the activities we do, not just our cooking club.

Then in the afternoon, we had an afternoon tea party.

Our residents very much love the tea parties as it gives them a reason to socialise with each other.

This is what happens when you have a mouth full of delicious cupcake but you are asked to smile for the camera.

Who doesn’t love a good natter.

As every Saturday Louis blessed us again with his amazing piano playing skills. Our residents always very much look forward to sing along with Louis.

We then had a very relaxing afternoon in the garden being invested in some interesting quiz questions.
