Cannot believe we are in the month of September already!

The month of September is always the start of schools, colleges and universities. Hence, we came up with this amazing theme of “Back to School” which led us to reminisce our old school days.

On Monday morning, we had a PT class. The residents joined in for the chair-based exercises and had a fresh start of the week.

In the afternoon, we had a bowling challenge. It is always so good to see our residents be competitive and enjoy the games we do in woodlands.

For this week’s outing we went to the tweseldown pub, which is very handy as it is just down the road from woodlands and the service is excellent. It is always so quiet and our residents love the interior of the Pub.

Some of our residents had cappuccino as they did not want any alcoholic drinks.

The Family of woodlands would like to introduce you all to our new friend. We are waiting to decide on a name via a competition we will be holding with the residents.

On Thursday morning, the residents did chair based exercises with the Physiotherapist and some of our residents also helped with arranging these beautiful flowers.

In the afternoon, we had our cooking club. In this week’s cooking club, we made delicious sausage rolls.

One of our residents had been a professional chef, so it was an absolute privilege to learn some tips about cooking from her.

No, she did not eat them raw..

The sausage rolls were enjoyed by all of our residents.

In the evening, we all heard the devastating news on passing away of our majesty the Queen. Our residents were very emotional so on Friday we spent some one-to-one time with our residents to help them feel better. Most of our residents have got letters from the Queen and have also met her in person so they were absolutely attached to her.

To honour our Queen who spent her entire life in the service of our nation, the residents wrote a few words appreciating her loyalty to the nation and also wishing her a peaceful rest.

The letters written by our residents will be sent to Buckingham palace.

On the Saturday morning, we did word search and Hangman.

In the afternoon, we had an afternoon tea party.

Our residents love these gatherings and to socialise with each other.
