Another productive week spent in Woodlands.

The theme of the week was dancing through the decades, so the residents did reminisce their 40’s, 50’s and 60’s by singing and dancing to the songs.

As every week, we started our week with chair-based exercises.
Every week, we have more of our residents join in for the exercises. Our residents even persuade one another to join in.
We then did some intellectual activities such as Giant crossword and quizzes. Most of our residents participate in and enjoy the group giant crossword.

On Tuesday, we had a live performance by Keith. It was Keith’s first time in our home, but our residents absolutely loved his performance and his song choices.

In no time, the residents and staff were up on the dance floor and had a great time.

On Wednesday morning, one of our care partners did a great session of Hangman. Every week, our care partner comes prepared with the words for
the game before hand and does a great job of keeping our residents entertained.

After lunch, we made our way to the Squire’s Garden centre. Most of our residents bought something for their family. After shopping and a walk around the garden centre, we all went to the café bar and enjoyed our cream tea.

On Thursday morning, the residents did exercises with the physiotherapist and also helped with the flower arrangements.

Some of our residents did the flowers while the others enjoyed putting the jigsaw puzzle together, all the time chatting away together.

In this week’s cooking club, we made delicious chocolate brownies.
The brownies had a rich and homely taste and were very much enjoyed by all our residents with their afternoon tea.

We also made good use of our nail salon.
Our residents love to get their nails done at least once every week.

On Saturday morning, we had Louis play piano for us.
Louis came back after two weeks leave and our residents had missed him.
Happy to see him back they enjoyed listening to him play piano.

In the afternoon, we had a tea party.
Our chef had made us delicious and pretty cupcakes for the tea party.
