Another week has come to an end which means we are moving closer towards Christmas!
We have enjoyed a German week in woodlands this week. The residents tried some beer which is the drink of a choice in Germany and we talked about their travels to Germany.

We started our week with chair-based exercises.
Our residents love chair based exercises and join in without any hesitation as they find the exercises very beneficial.

On Wednesday morning, one of our care partners played German hangman with us. He based the guessing words on German cities and famous foods. It was very interesting for us all.

As the cold weather is coming and winter will soon be here, the ladies of woodlands have started to knit a blanket in preparation.

On Thursday morning, the residents had a physio session with the Physiotherapist.
After exercise and morning tea, some of our residents helped with flower arranging.

Thursday morning, we had a residents meeting. The agenda covered, maintenance, care and activities. Alison asked each of the residents if they are satisfied and received positive responses from everyone.

In the afternoon, some of our residents made banana bread for their afternoon tea, while others engaged in a giant crossword.

On Friday morning, Some residents enjoyed the word search. Oktoberfest is a famous festival in Germany, we have been enjoying this as our theme this week so used the word “Oktoberfest” to find as many words as we could.

In the afternoon, we had a trip to Farnham Mill nursing home. This is our 4th trip to Farnham Mill, and they always make us very welcome with delicious cakes and tea in their fine china cups. After tea and cake, we had a walk around their garden and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and watched the ducks on their pond.

On Saturday morning, Louis played piano for our residents.
The residents loved listening to him play piano and sang their hearts out.

In the afternoon, the residents enjoyed cold beer with fresh fruits.
