We have just had a week full of interesting activities in Woodlands. Following the theme of Scottish week, we had Scottish food and drinks tasting, arts and crafts, quizzes, with a mixture of preparation for Christmas.
On Monday, the residents took part in rice crafts. They soaked rice in blue and white colours and glued them on the cardboard creating this beautiful flag of Scotland.
The residents also made a bunting of Scottish flags which we hung from the ceiling on St. Andrews day.
We could not have Scottish week without tasting their famous Haggis and Scottish whiskey. So, on Wednesday, the residents had the opportunity to taste the Scottish delicacy and absolutely loved it.
While one of our care partners and some residents played Scottish hangman in the lounge, other residents volunteered to help with the decoration of the Christmas tree.
On Thursday morning, the residents joined in exercises with the physiotherapist and then helped with arranging flowers.
Then we decorated our home for Christmas together.
On Friday, some of our residents went to Hobby Craft in Farnborough to buy some bits and pieces for their Christmas cake while the others enjoyed one of our Christmas arts and crafts, decorating pine cones.
Despite the decrease in temperature, the residents of woodlands still completed their daily garden walk.
On Saturday morning, Louis played piano.
In afternoon, we took part in more Christmas arts and crafts where we made beautiful Christmas decorations which added colour to our home.
Throughout the week, we started each morning with chair based exercises.
