In woodlands we celebrated Robert Burns night on Wednesday January 25. Throughout the week we read Burns poems, enjoyed Scottish food, had a relaxing afternoon with Scottish whisky and many more activities.
On Monday, we had word search in the morning. The residents managed to find 83 words from the name “Robert Burns”.
Natasha is on a work placement with us for 2 weeks. She provided support with activities throughout the week and spent some one-to-one time with our residents.
As we near Valentine’s Day. We had valentines’ art and crafts on Monday afternoon.
On the day of Robert Burns birthday, one of our care partners organised a game of “Scottish hangman”. Our residents love interactive games.
Our chef Becky cooked a delicious Scottish lunch for us on Wednesday.
In the afternoon, we took part in a Robert Burns quiz, with Scottish whisky and shortbread with our afternoon tea.
On Thursday morning, we had chair-based exercises, flower arranging and a quoits challenge.
In the afternoon we went to Squires garden centre. The residents had a wonderful time exploring. We all had afternoon tea or coffee with caramel cake before heading home.
On Friday morning we had ball games. We exercise every morning and sometimes play ball games instead of chair exercises.
In the afternoon, we had the refreshment trolley with fruit and drink.
On Saturday morning we had exercises and a game of word search.
In the afternoon, we had art and crafts and a game of bingo which most of our residents joined in.
