Mardi Gras (French: Fat Tuesday) is a festive day celebrated in France on Shrove Tuesday, which marks the close of the pre-lent season.
This week we celebrated Mardi Gras in woodlands. We had word search, a Mardi Gras tea party, pancake tasting and many more activities.
We started our week with some games and exercises.
Every morning, we do physical activities before our morning tea.
On Tuesday, the residents enjoyed pancakes as it was Shrove Tuesday.
On Wednesday, we had a pianist, playing soft music in the background while the residents enjoyed their hot chocolate with cream in the afternoon.
We had a game of bingo which was enjoyed by most of our residents.
On Thursday morning, one of our care partners organised a game of hangman for those that wanted to take part.
In the afternoon, we had Mardi Gras mask tea party. Our residents had made the masks last week. We all enjoyed tea and cupcakes.
On Friday morning, we started our preparation for St. David’s Day. The residents painted Daffodils which are now used as decorations.
In the afternoon, we went to our local pub “The Tweseldown” for a drink and snacks.
On Saturday morning, some of our residents helped decorate cupcakes which were enjoyed with afternoon tea.
That smile on your face when you have just had your hair done.
Our residents have great friendships with each other. We often find our residents relax and enjoy spending time socializing with each other.
