Irish Week at Woodlands is not complete without Guinness! We had+ a Guinness tasting afternoon paired with some cheese and crackers. It was a delightful experience celebrating Irish culture with the iconic taste of Guinness.
Wordsearch
Trying to find new words using the alphabets from an Irish phrase ‘Erin go Bragh’.
Recalling an old friendship through a meaningful conversation, our residents realised they were friends prior to moving in. It was touching to see them acknowledge each other.
Our residents at Woodlands enjoy mind-stimulating exercises like quizzes, wordsearches, and hangman. To celebrate Irish Week, we organised an Irish-themed hangman activity. Engaging in brain exercises enhances cognitive abilities and fosters a sense of community among our residents.
Thursdays are all about flower arranging.
Our beautiful and creative ladies sit down together and create stunning pieces of art to showcase around the home. It adds so much colour, love, and life to our home. This is something to look forward to every Thursday. The whole process of receiving the flowers, selecting the right vases for those flowers, meticulously arranging each flower to create a piece of art, and finding those vases the right place to display is so calming and therapeutic for our ladies.
A special visitor to Woodlands!
Our therapy dog, Tinker, made a surprise visit, bringing joy and love to our residents. Their happiness was evident. Tinker’s presence positively impacts our home. We value her contribution and the comfort she provides to everyone she sees.
Making Boxty, Traditional Irish Potato Pancakes
Considering our residents first attempt, they were very good.
We made it to Lake House!
Our residents from Woodlands enjoyed a delightful morning at The Lake House. Nearly half of the home joined the trip, relishing hot drinks and cakes with a picturesque lake view. The experience brought so much joy to our residents as well as helping in promoting their overall well-being. Alongside, this encouraged our new residents to connect with other residents.
