We started our Spring week at Woodlands with some of our residents favourite indoor games, Quoits, Skittles, Wordsearches and Bingo. These games not only challenge but they are also great fun to participate in.
Morning Quiz with David
Every Wednesday morning, our residents at Woodlands gather in the main lounge with excitement and anticipation. The reason behind this excitement is none other than David, our dedicated volunteer who conducts a morning quiz for our residents. This has become a weekly ritual that our residents eagerly look forward to, and it has become an integral part of their daily routine.
Spring Craft
Our lovely residents at Woodlands are skilfully crafting vibrant and beautiful flowers to celebrate the arrival of Spring.
Their creativity and artistry bring colour and joy to our home.
Spring is a time for new beginnings, fresh starts, and rejuvenation. It is a season that brings joy and enthusiasm to everyone after long and gloomy winter months. At Woodlands, our residents were determined to make the most out of this beautiful season by engaging themselves in some mind-stimulating activities.
The idea of this activity is to encourage our residents to exercise their minds. It not only challenges them but also brings out their competitive spirit. They were determined to find more words than their fellow residents and it led to friendly competition amongst them. It was heart warming to see our residents, who are in the later years of their lives, so enthusiastic and engaged in this activity.
Planting Herb Seeds
As the chilly winter weather slowly fades away, the arrival of spring brings with it a sense of rejuvenation and new beginnings. At Woodlands, changing of seasons is always celebrated with various activities and events. So, as spring arrives, the residents came together to plant some herb seeds and welcome the new season with greenery and fresh aromas.
Flower Arranging
Arranging vibrant and colourful flowers at Woodlands is a heartwarming activity for our residents. As they chat and create beautiful arrangements to display around our home, it provides a therapeutic experience. This slow-paced activity is particularly popular amongst our female residents, promoting relaxation and well-being.
Trip to Garden Centre, Redfield
What better way to embrace the season than with a morning trip down to Redfield Garden Centre? A short drive away from Woodlands, for our residents, Redfield Garden Centre is the perfect destination for a leisurely stroll and some delightful treats.

Refilling the bird feeders
The sun was shining, and the birds were chirping as the residents stepped outside to enjoy a leisurely afternoon stroll around the garden. One of the highlights of the afternoon was refilling the bird feeders that are scattered throughout the garden. The residents eagerly grabbed bags of birdseed and carefully poured it into the feeders, watching as the feathered friends flocked to enjoy their treat.
