At Woodlands, we believe that life should be filled with laughter, joy, and adventure. That’s why recently we celebrated a week full of vibrant colours, lively music and delicious foods and drinks, all in the spirit of Mexico! Our residents had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich culture of Mexico.

We hosted an unforgettable afternoon filled with vibrant colours, delicious flavours of homemade Mexican mocktails and lively interactions. The event was designed to provide our residents with a delightful and refreshing experience while promoting their well-being. With temperatures gradually rising, we prioritized the hydration of our residents. To ensure their comfort, we set up a colourful Mexican mocktail trolley, offering a variety of homemade fruit mocktails. The trolley was adorned with vibrant decorations and our residents along with some of the families visiting loved it!

Make a Mayan Mask!

Our residents sat together filling the room with laughter and creativity. Our morning took an enchanting turn as we delved into the fascinating world of Mayan Masks.

Natasha to Entertain

The air crackled with anticipation as Natasha, the talented singer graced our home to entertain the residents. Her presence radiated warmth and excitement, promising an unforgettable musical experience.

Each song was a masterpiece, carefully chosen to resonate with the resident’s taste and memories. Natasha’s flawless vocals and expressive delivery transported our residents back in time, evoking cherished memories/moments and sparking a myriad of emotion. The residents sang along, their voices blending harmoniously with Natasha’s.  The atmosphere was electric, filled with so much joy.

A trip to St. Martin’s Church & to see Bluebells.

Our residents of Woodlands embarked on a delightful outing to Ellis Field and St. Martin’s Church. The weather was idyllic, with gentle breeze and warm sunshine, creating the perfect conditions for a refreshing walk and exploration. We were greeted by a vibrant expanse of greenery and the field was carpeted in vibrant tapestry of wildflowers, including some of iconic bluebells!

After exploring the field, we ventured to the historic St. Martin’s Church. This beautiful building, dating back to 12th century, is a testament to the rich history of the area. Our residents admired the church’s intricate architecture, from its imposing tower to its charming stained-glass windows.

Mexican Fiesta

The vibrant colours of Mexico filled the air at Woodlands as residents celebrated a delightful Mexican Fiesta. The afternoon was a symphony of touch, sights, sounds, and flavours. A festive atmosphere was created with colourful decorations and traditional Mexican music. Residents gathered in the home’s lounge, their faces beaming with excitement.

The highlight of the celebration was the taco and nacho cart, overflowing with an array of toppings and sides. Residents had their pick of mouth-watering fillings which added layers of flavour to each bite.

The Mexican Fiesta at Woodlands was a resounding success, bringing joy and a touch of Mexican culture to the residents. It was an afternoon filled with delicious food, laughter, and warm smiles, creating lasting memories for all.

Flower Arranging

At Woodlands, Thursdays holds a significance for our residents. Every week without a fail, a group of our enthusiastic residents gather for a heartwarming ritual, Flower Arranging.

As the clock strikes a certain hour, our residents make their way to the designated space, their face beaming with anticipation. They are greeted by a colourful array of fresh blooms, each petal a vibrant canvas for their creative expression. With gentle hands, they select their chosen flowers, carefully considering their colours, texture, and shapes. As they work together, the surrounding is filled with the sound of laughter and cheerful chatter. Stories are shared, memories are evoked, and bonds are strengthened.

Quiz Morning with David

Every week, our residents eagerly await the arrival of our special guest, David – our dedicated volunteer. With his infectious enthusiasm and passion for knowledge, David has been a beacon of joy and mental stimulation for our residents. His interactive and engaging quizzes have become a staple of our home, fostering a sense of intellectual curiosity among all who participate.

Tweseldown Pub

Friday afternoons are a time for relaxation and unwinding. For our residents of Woodlands, there’s no better way to spend this time than by heading to their local pub, Tweseldown for some drinks and good company.
