Woodlands was transformed into a lively homage to the cowboy culture during an extraordinary event aptly named Cowboy Week!
All residents were invited to take part in an immersive experience that celebrated the spirit of Wild West through a variety of engaging activities- from cowboy themed art and craft to delightful garden afternoon tea parties and mind-stimulating word scramble. The week offered something to everyone.
Cowboy Art & Craft
Our residents traded their everyday attire for cowboy hats and bandana as they kick off their much-anticipated Cowboy Week Celebration! The vibrant, Western themed festivities were designed to enhance our resident’s engagement and to bring a spirit of frontier fun to the home.
Some of our residents enjoyed their chilled wine and refreshments while leisurely chatting and colouring with fellow cowpokes.
The celebratory atmosphere made each sip a delightful accompaniment to the laughter and conversation that filled the air. Its not just about the drinks, though; the social interaction fosters connections and reminds residents of simple joy of companionship, and truly embody the spirit of cowboy camaraderie.

Dementia Choir
In the world of care for individuals with dementia, the need for meaningful connection and engagement cannot be understated.
Every fortnight, residents from our four homes immerse themselves in the joy of music through our Dementia Choir.
The heartwarming initiative brings together individuals from all our four homes, allowing them to sing, connect and share experience that transcend the challenges of their condition.
The magic of the Dementia Choir lies in its ability to create a sense of belonging among residents who may feel isolated or disconnected. As they gather to sing, the room comes alive with shared melodies and harmonies, fostering an atmosphere of joy and camaraderie. Faces light up with recognition and smiles abound as familiar songs evoke memories and emotions, creating moments of clarity and happiness.
At the helm of this musical initiative is our compassionate volunteer, Caroline. Her dedication to the residents and her passion for music shine through in every session.
Each choir session is not just about singing, it concludes with a lively dancing segment that adds another layer of warmth and joy to the experience.
Word Scramble & Word Wheel
The importance of mental stimulation cannot be overstated, especially for our beloved residents. Keeping their mind sharp and engaged is essential for their cognitive health and overall well-being.
Keeping up with the wild west spirit, our residents did an interactive activity: The Wild West word scramble & ‘Cowboy Week’ Word wheel.
