We started another week at Hill Brow with our weekly group physio session, this is a great way for us to keep our muscles strong and the physio always comes up with fun games to not only keep our muscles active but also our other senses such as the colourful scarfs we use, these help to stimulate our vision with the bright colours as we keep our muscles strong!
We all gathered in the conservatory this week for our weekly art and social, this is a brilliant way for us to express our creative side while spending some time together. It’s very relaxing for us to simply have a quiet moment together colouring and this also helps to keep our motor skills strong.
We enjoyed a trip to Hill House this week for dementia choir, this is a great way for us to make new friends in the other homes along with seeing some old friends that have moved from us, it’s important we keep these connections. Plus we enjoy the singing!
We were treated to a visit from the hair dresser this week who came and gave us all fresh hair cuts. this really helps us to feel more like ourselves with a fresh trim!
We enjoyed a game of hangman this week, this helps us to keep our minds as active as we keep our bodies throughout the week, after waking up our minds with the game of hangman Dawn led us in our daily armchair exercises to help us to wake our bodies up ready for the day ahead.
We later enjoyed a quiz about cats, where we had to guess as many famous cats as we could and as you can see we came up with quite a few famous moggies! Then we thought of our senses and our hearing where we named as many things that make noise as we could.
We managed to think of quite a few things that make noise, some pleasant and some not so much!
We enjoyed visits with our families this week and talked over a delicious cup of tea! It always brightens our week when we see you all!
We finished the week with another word game where we worked together and made our way through the alphabet to name animals beginning with each letter! As you can see we ran out of space! We came up with so many we couldn’t fit them all on the board, But dawn was more than happy for us to just call them out!
