As the crisp autumn air settles in and leaves transform into vibrant hues of red and gold, Woodlands has welcomed the season with open arms, hosting an unforgettable Oktoberfest week.
This week of cherished celebration has provided our residents with wonderful opportunity to socialise, engage, and relish in the camaraderie that made our home feel so special. The spirit of the Oktoberfest permeated every corner of Woodlands.
Throughout the week, Woodlands offered a range of activities designed to engage our residents. Our residents also participated in various indoor games and quizzes.

Make Pretzels
With Tricksy

Our week-long Oktoberfest theme culminated in a delightful cooking session where our residents had the opportunity to learn the art and craft of pretzel folding whilst Rowena played piano. Under the guidance of our talented chef Tricksy, who has a knack for integrating fun into food preparation, our residents rolled up their sleeves and dove right into the dough.

Beer Tasting

Oktoberfest, the world-famous celebration of German culture, was upon us, and what festivities than with a delightful beer tasting event paired with warm embrace of freshly baked pretzels?
This year’s celebration was marked by the recent addition of our engaging beer tasting cart, a creative concept designed to bring our residents together for a fun and interactive experience. With a variety of local and international beers to choose from, our residents were treated to an impressive selection, ranging from rich stout and hoppy IPAs to light lagers and refreshing wheat beers. Each resident was provided with tasting notes, allowing them to explore the unique flavours and aromas that each brew offered.

Art & Craft
(Make Alpine Hats)

Our beautiful residents gathered for a delightful art and craft session that promised creativity, camaraderie, and most importantly, a lot of fun!
Today’s project? Crafting whimsical Alpine hats, a theme that sparked imagination.

Residents Outing

We always strive to create memorable experiences that connect our residents with nature and the world outside. This time, however, the unpredictable weather threw us a curveball, forcing us to pivot from our initial plan of visiting an animal farm. Despite this change, our residents turned what could have been a disappointment into a cozy and delightful experience at Manor Farm Tea Room.
With a selection of hot drinks at their fingertips, residents indulged in their favourites steaming cups of tea, rich hot chocolate, and smooth coffee & the sweet treats were a delightful highlight of the outing.
Despite not being able to interact with animals as originally planned, the joy of being together in such a lovely setting proved to be just as fulfilling.

Flower Arranging

Taking a moment to slow down and appreciating that arts can be refreshing breath of fresh air.
Our residents at Woodlands embraced this notion by coming together to engage in a flower arranging activity that highlighted their creative spirits.

Indoor Games
(Throughout the Week)

Our residents engaged in several indoor games such as Scrabble, Dominos, Skittles, Apple Box Games, Beer Pong, Picture Bingo, Several Quizzes and many other games, which was engaging and a lot of fun to participate.

Garden Walk

Relaxing and rejuvenating in the crisp autumn afternoon in our lovely garden.
